Environment

At pizza wisdom we're not only serious about good food, we care immensely about the detrimental effects of global warming and the impact the food industry has on it.

Waste

Food waste is a huge contributing factor towards this issue, that's why we are constantly looking at methods to reduce our waste in any way we can.

One way we do this is by not over producing what we make, if there are any left over produce, like dough or toppings, we sell pizzas for a reduced price at the end of our day or we give them to people who perhaps couldn't afford one themselves. Other way's we do this is by turning our left over dough into beautiful, fluffy sourdough Focaccia and fill them with our left over toppings to sell the next day! We are are also members of an amazing food waste organisation called TooGoodToGo.

Our oven

Using a clay oven is magical but it comes with its own imperfections when it comes to the environment. Burning wood for long periods of time is harmful, that why we try our best to counter act this in other areas of our business by working in the most eco-friendly ways we can. We also make sure none of that heat ever goes to waste. our oven takes around an hour & a half - two hours to heat up and cool down, during these times of lower temperatures we cook our toppings and bake our focaccia. ALL our wood is FSC approved to ensure that valuable ecosystems aren't harmed in our pizza making process

Plastic

Buying veg that isn't wrapped in plastic, rather in a paper bag or box from our local farms or veg stores helps us to reduce our contribution  Our ingredients are locally sourced and organic. We try our best to keep our van in the local area to reduce emission costs.
